The Crystal City was
the epicenter of a national radio broadcast
Tuesday. Conservative talk show host Mike
Gallagher hit the airwaves live from
Corning Tuesday morning. The
host of the syndicated show that bears his name is on
the road promoting his new book "Surrounded By
Idiots: Fighting Liberal Lunacy In
America." Fans crowded
Centerway Square for a book signing and a peek inside
Gallagher's mobile studio, dubbed "The Surrounded By
Idiots Express." "These are
the types of places I wanted to visit. The
publisher said what about Chicago? What about New
York? I said what about Elmira-Corning? This
is a place where we've been heard on the radio for a
long time and it's just very gratifying to shake the
hands of people who've listened to the show," Gallagher
said. "I've been listening
to him for years and I call in a lot," said Tina Howe of
Corning. "He knows me as 'Tina from Corning' and
he remembered me today after I reminded
him." Gallagher, who says
his wife is a liberal democrat, says despite the title,
his book is about uniting
Americans. |
